At Smith Rock Community Church we believe that followers of Christ must be disciples and in order to be a disciple we must be in community. Community is found in small groups where we get to know one another as we do “life together” and learn what it means to follow Jesus. Our small groups or “Anchor groups” (because they anchor us to Jesus and one another) work on a trimester system where we have a number of groups that meet for a set number of weeks in the fall, winter and spring at various locations and days. We limit each group to twelve to fifteen people. For information on the current semester click here.
We also highly encourage that all members are involved in groups of two to five where they meet together for the purpose of fellowship, encouragement, and accountability. We recommend the use of Francis Chan’s “Multiply” as a tool for direction.
In addition to the Anchor groups which are discipleship focused we have groups which meet in the summer that are more activity based and provide a wonderful opportunity for people to get together and build relationships in an informal setting.
